How to Configure SAML 2.0 for StatusPage

The Okta/StatusPage SAML integration currently supports the following features:

Variables

You will need the following auto-generated variables for your SAML configuration:


Configuration Steps

  1. Log into your StatusPage account.

    • If you want people to authenticate with SAML before being able to view the status page, proceed to step 2 below.

    • If you want to require registered team members to login to the admin portal via SAML, then proceed here.

  2. Select Your page:

  3. Go to Authentication > SAML, then click Configure:

    Go to Authentication -> SAML and click Configure

  4. Enter the following:

    • ACS URL/Consumer URL: Make a copy of this value.

    • EntityID/Audience URI: Make a copy of this value.

    • SSO Target URL: Copy the SSO Target URL value in the Variables section at the top of this document.

    • Certificate: Copy the Certificate value in the Variables section at the top of this document.

    • Click Save.

  5. In Okta, select the Sign On tab for the StatusPage SAML app, then click Edit.

    • Enter the ACS Url and entityID values you made a copy of in step 4 into the corresponding fields.

    • Click Save.

  6. Optional: Group Attribute Steps:

    • To send groups as a part of SAML assertion, in Okta select the Sign On tab for the StatusPage.io app, then click Edit.

    • Select the appropriate filter from the drop-down menu, then type the preferred value into the field.

    • Click Save.

  7. Done!


Login to the Admin Portal

If you require registered team members to login to the admin portal via SAML:

  1. In the lower left corner сlick your icon, then select User management:

  2. Select Single Sign-on, then follow the steps below:

    • ACS URL/Consumer URL: Make a copy of this value.

    • EntityID/Audience URI: Make a copy of this value.

    • SSO Target URL: Copy the SSO Target URL value in the Variables section at the top of this document.

    • Certificate: Copy the Certificate value in the Variables section at the top of this document.

    • Click Save SSO Configuration.

    Login to the admin portal

  3. In Okta, select the Sign On tab for the StatusPage SAML app, then click Edit.

    • Enter the ACS Url and entityID values you made a copy of in step 2 above into the corresponding fields.

    • Click Save.

  4. Done!


Notes

The following SAML attributes are supported.


SP-initiated SSO

  1. Go to: https://manage.statuspage.io/login

  2. Enter your email, then click Continue:

  3. go to https://manage.statuspage.io/login, enter email, click Continue
