How to Configure SAML 2.0 for ProdPad

Supported Features

The Okta/ProdPad SAML integration currently supports the following features:

Configuration Steps

  1. Login to your ProdPad account as an administrator.

  2. Click on your account icon, then select Account Settings:

  3. Navigate to Authentication > Add Authentication type > SAML:

  4. Enter the following (see screen shot at end of step for reference):

    • Sign-in URL: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin dashboard to generate this value.

    • ACS Http Endpoint: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin Dashboard to generate this variable.

    • Domain name: Enter your domain name.

    • X509 Certificate: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin Dashboard to generate this variable.
    • Click Save:

  5. ProdPad will send you an email to confirm your domain. Once you confirm, login via SSO will take place.

  6. In Okta, navigate to Directory > Profile Editor:

  7. Search for the prodpad app, then click Profile:

  8. Click Add Attribute, then enter the following information:

    • Display Name: Enter ProdpadRole.

    • Variable Name: Enter ProdpadRole.

    • Click Save:

  9. Scope (optional): If you check User personal, the ProdpadRole attribute will be available once you assign a single user to the ProdPad app and will not be available once you assign a group to the ProdPad app. For example, in the following screenshot, the User personal Scope was not applied to the ProdpadRole attribute:

  10. Now, when you assign users to the ProdPad app, you can specify the attribute ProdpadRole for a user.

    The value needs to be either reviewer, editor, or admin (lower case). If the role is not specified a user will log into as a Reviewer.

Notes

The following SAML attributes are supported:

SP-initiated SSO

  1. Go to: https://app.prodpad.com/login.

  2. Enter your email, then click Log in with SAML:
