How to Configure SAML 2.0 for MindTickle


Read this before you enable SAML

These SAML instructions contain Force Authentication configuration steps that are optional. If you are not going to use Force Authentication, skip the steps that are marked as [Optional Force Authentication].

The Okta/MindTickle SAML integration currently supports the following features:

Configuration Steps

  1. Sign into your MindTickle dashboard account with your credentials.

  2. Click the more icon in the upper-right, then go to Account Settings.

    Click More icon, then Account Settings

  3. On the Account Settings page, select Security and integrations and follow the steps below:

    • Switch the toggle button to On.

    • Select SAML SSO.

    • Upload Identity Provider Meta File: Save the following metadata file and upload to MindTickle by clicking Select File:

      Sign into the Okta Admin dashboard to generate this value.

    • Click Activate SSO:

  4. [Optional Force Authentication]: In Okta select the Sign On tab for the MindTickle SAML app, then click Edit:

    • Uncheck Disable Force Authentication.

    • Click Save:

    Okta Sign on page, uncheck Disable Force Authentication (optional)

  5. Done!

Notes

Make sure that you entered the correct value in the Sub Domain field under the General tab in Okta. Using the wrong value will prevent you from authenticating via SAML to MindTickle.


SP-initiated SSO

  1. Go to: https://[your-subdomain].mindtickle.com

  2. Click Sign in with OKTA:
