How to Configure SAML 2.0 for Jobvite

Read this before you enable SAML

If you already have an existing Jobvite app instance and would like to add the SP-initiated SAML flow functionality to your app, send a message to your Customer Support Contact saying that you want your current Jobvite application to be switched over to the new Jobvite SSO. Skip the first step below and proceed to step 2.

Configuration Steps

  1. Send a message to your Customer Support Contact to enable SAML in the Jobvite infrastructure for your organization. Include the following four items in the message.

    1. Copy and paste the following text into the message and label it External key (entity ID).

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable.

    2. Select the following link to download an x.509 Certificate. Attach the certificate to the message.

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable.

    3. Copy and paste the following text into the message and label it Redirect Login URL.

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable.

    4. Copy the following IDP Metadata into a text file. Save it with the file name metadata.xml and attach it to the message.

      Sign into the Okta Admin dashboard to generate this value.

    5. Optional: If you updated the Session Lifetime for your Okta org, please send your org's Session Lifetime value to Jobvite as well. If you left it as the default value, you can skip this step.

  2. After Jobvite receives the request, they will send you the Customer Name they assigned to your org as well as a Relay State value. These values are required before you can SAML authentication will work.

  3. In Okta, select the Sign On tab for the Jobvite app, then click Edit.

    • Enter the Relay State you received from Jobvite into the Default Relay State field.

    • SAML Instance Type: Select either Production or Staging.

    • Enter the Customer Name you received from Jobvite into the corresponding field.

    • Click Save.

  4. Done!
