How to Configure SAML 2.0 for Freshdesk


This Freshdesk SSO application will soon be deprecated. All new Freshdesk customers who signed up after Jan 1, 2020, please install the Freshworks app to configure SSO.

Supported Features

The Okta/Freshdesk SAML integration currently supports the following features:


Configuration Steps

  1. Sign in to Freshdesk at https://<your_subdomain>.freshdesk.com/login/normal, where <your_subdomain> is the name of your subdomain that you already set up in Freshdesk.

  2. Select the Admin tab, and then select the Security icon:

  3. Move the Single Sign On (SSO) slider to the ON position, then enter the following:

    • Select SAML SSO.
    • SAML Login URL: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable

    • Logout URL: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable

    • Security Certificate Fingerprint: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin Dashboard to generate this variable.

    • Select Save.

  4. In Okta, select the General tab for the Freshdesk app, then click Edit.

    • Enter your Freshdesk Subdomain into the corresponding field.

    • Click Save.

  5. Done!

The following SAML attributes are supported:
