How to Configure SAML 2.0 for Flowdock

Supported Features

The Okta/Flowdock SAML integration currently supports the following features:

Configuration Steps

  1. Contact the Flowdock support team and request that they enable SAML for your organization.

  2. Copy the following three items into the message to Flowdock support.

    1. Issuer:

      Sign into the Okta Admin dashboard to generate this value.
    2. SAML URL:

      Sign into the Okta Admin dashboard to generate this value.
    3. Certificate Fingerprint:

      Sign into the Okta Admin dashboard to generate this value.
  3. Flowdock will process your request and will provide you a SAML URL in the format https://www.flowdock.com/auth/saml/callback?uid=aAAAAbbbbb1CdefgHiGklM where aAAAAbbbbb1CdefgHiGklM is the Customer Identifier.
  4. In Okta, select the Sign On tab for the Flowdock app, then click Edit.

    • Scroll down to ADVANCED SIGN-ON SETTINGS.

    • Enter the Customer Identifier (step 3) into the corresponding field.

    • Click Save.

  5. Done!


Notes

The following SAML attributes are supported:

SP-initiated SSO

  1. Open the following sign in page: https://www.flowdock.com/login.

  2. Click LOG IN.
