How to Configure SAML 2.0 for Automox


Read this before you enable SAML

Enabling SAML will affect all users who use this application, which means that users will not be able to sign-in through their regular log-in page. They will only be able to access the app through the Okta service.

Backup URL

Automox does not provide backup log-in URL where users can sign-in using their normal username and password. You can contact Automox Support (support@automox.com) to turn off SAML, if necessary.

Configuration Steps

  1. Sign in to Automox.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Security, then select Enable for the SAML option:

  3. Follow the steps below:

    • Make a copy of the portion of the Automox ACS URL marked in red, below. This is your Customer ID.

    • Entity ID: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin Dashboard to generate this variable.

    • x509: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin Dashboard to generate this variable.
    • Login URL: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin Dashboard to generate this variable.

    • (Optional) Logout URL: Copy and paste the following:

      Sign into the Okta Admin Dashboard to generate this variable.

    • (Optional) Provision New Users: Select this option to enable JIT.

    • Click Save:

  4. In Okta, select the Sign On tab for the Automox SAML app, then click Edit.

    • Enter the Customer ID value you made a copy of in step 3 into the corresponding field.

    • Click Save.

SP-initiated SSO

  1. Go to https://console.automox.com/login URL.

  2. Enter your Email Address, then click Next:
