How to Configure SAML 2.0 for HelpGizmo

Supported Features

The Okta/HelpGizmo SAML integration currently supports the following features:

Configuration Steps

  1. Log into HelpGizmo as an administrator.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Security.

  3. Select the Enable SAML checkbox.

  4. Enter the following values (see screen capture at end of step for reference):

    • iDP EntityID. Copy and paste the following:

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable.

    • Login URL. Copy and paste the following:

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable.

    • Logout URL. Copy and paste the following:

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable.

    • Download the x.509 Certificate in .cert format, then click Browse and upload the downloaded certificate:

      Sign in to the Okta Admin app to generate this variable.

    • Select Save:

  5. Copy your instance ID from the address bar in your browser:

  6. In Okta, select the Sign On tab for the HelpGizmo app, then select Edit.

    • Scroll down to the ADVANCED SIGN-ON SETTINGS section.

    • Entity ID: Select Reader Mapping.

    • ACS URL: Enter the following: https://app.helpgizmo.com/kb/map-saml/id/[yourID], where yourID is the value from step 5, above.

    • Select Save:

  7. In HelpGizmo, select the Map Reader Fields link, then enter the following values (see screen shot at end of step for reference):

    • SSO ID: userid

    • Username/Email: userid

    • Custom Field 1: firstname

    • Custom Field 2: lastname

  8. In Okta, select the Sign On tab for the HelpGizmo app, then select Edit.

    • Scroll down to the ADVANCED SIGN-ON SETTINGS section.

    • Entity ID: Select Knowledge Base.

    • ACS URL: Enter the following: https://[yourSubDomain].helpgizmo.com/help/saml-login, where yourSubDomain is your HelpGizmo subdomain.

    • Select Save:

  9. Done!


Notes

The following SAML attributes are supported:


SP-initiated SSO

Open your HelpGizmo login URL (https://[yourSubDomain].helpgizmo.com) and select the Login link.
